Sustainable Development Starts Close to Home...
...and it's true! The water we drink, the education we receive, the transport we use, and the quality of our lives in general are all connected to sustainable development. Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals bring these concerns together through goals for people, society and the environment.
As TIA2030 reaches its final month, we return to this everyday perspective. Through teaching courses, summer schools, workshops, field trips and public discussions, we have explored how the EU puts Agenda 2030 into practice and how technology and innovation can contribute to sustainable development. These questions have practical relevance because the decisions involved can shape, for example, people’s access to essential services, education and employment opportunities, as well as the quality of the places where they live. In this way, sustainable development takes shape through choices made in municipalities, schools, businesses, and homes - at more local levels. Understanding these connections is something we can carry forward beyond the project.
We’re now finalising the project deliverables and preparing more results to share. They will be available through our website, offering resources for further learning and discussion.
Thank you to everyone who participated, contributed their expertise, helped, asked questions or followed our work. Your involvement has been an important part of TIA2030!
