About UNM FIS

The Faculty of Information Studies is a public higher education institution and a member of the public University of Novo mesto. As the first faculty in Novo mesto and the first pillar of public higher education in the Southeast Slovenia region, we have, since our establishment in 2008, made an important contribution to the development of high-quality public higher education, scientific research, and cooperation with industry and the wider social environment.

UNM FIS strategic vision and focus on high-level applied research is shaped, first, by the intercultural space in which it is located, secondly, by the transnational character of the region, which has traditionally nurtured strong cross-border linkages with the Southeast Europe and, finally, by the region’s successful, smart and inclusive transformation from traditional industrial and rural region to one with high value-added industry and services, in which knowledge played the key role.
