News and updates - Winter Camp Workshop 2025 results

Our project team successfully held the Winter Camp Workshop 2025. This year the event mainly focused on the role of innovations in the implementation of the European Union’s Grand Strategies and Agenda 2030 and its SDGs in particular.

We were pleased to host the speakers, Emeritus Professor Nikolai Genov (Freie Universität Berlin, Germany), who presented the topic concerning the European Union R&D aspirations, and Emeritus Professor William O’Gorman (Centre for Enterprise Development and Regional Economy (CEDRE), South East Technological University (SETU), Ireland) with the presentation about disruptive innovative transformation and regions' response to divergent situations/challenges.

At the end of the Workshop, the participants were invited to discuss their opinions about the outlined topic and shared their ideas regarding the obstacles (e.g. ethical, technological, social considerations) that disruptive innovations can create for the implementation of the EU’s Grand Strategies and transition towards sustainable development and a knowledge-driven society. Results of the discussion are represented in the picture below.
